Ms Rabbit seemed exceptionally nervous this morning : trembling, poised for flight, and moaning softly to herself.
I didn't want to add to her discomfort, so I sat down quietly with my usual cup of coffee and waited.
After a while, she sidled up closer , and said : " Oh my goodness ! Oh my goodness ! I've just seen an awful sight !!"
"A red-tailed hawk ?", I asked solicitously. I know we have a few big ones that live in the nearby woodlands , and , on occasion , they'll soar over my house:scaring the bejabbers out of the squirrel polulation.
" Oh, no," she cried. It was a monster !!!
" Oh ? Something like this ? " , I asked , holding up an advertising circular, and thinking-perhaps- some child had been trying out a Halloween costume.
" Oh no ! It was worse ! Much, much worse !"
"Hmmm...," I said, hunting around for another ad. " How about something like this ?
" Oh, that doesn't scare me ! That's just an old-timey movie poster."
I scratched my head. This was getting a bit puzzling.
" Help me out here, my furry friend: Could you have been looking at someone wearing a costume ? "
" Don't be silly !", she snapped. " I know what Halloween costumes are !"
"Here', she said, and began fumbling around: coming up at last with a tiny digital camera. ( I don't believe I've ever seen one that size before !) "I took a picture."
The resolution wasn't that great, but, if you'll click on the image , you'll see an obvious "Photoshop" manipulation. Well, at least I think it's a Photoshopped image of Hillary !
"Gotcha !", giggled Ms Rabbit.
