There is a growing body of belief fluctuations in the sun's magnetic field may trigger a "mini-ice age " - and that present stress on reducing human-created (anthropogenic) global warming may be-at best-misguided.
Recent, repeated blizzards in China, previously unheard-of snowfall in places like southern Arizona (pictured) , and Iraq ; and exceptionally cold weather in the United States are not reassuring signs.
As I write this, I'm waiting for a small snow storm to arrive - but -truth be told - we have have had very little snow this winter in our neck of the woods , and I have to say I don't see any real signs of global cooling-anthropogenic or otherwise-around here !
I wanted to ask Ms Owl ( who is, as you can see, a Snowy Owl, and who should be fairly knowledgeable about such subjects ), but she hasn't been around of late - something to do with her Owlet's Wedding Flight plans I believe.
As you might imagine, this leaves me a bit stymied , and, since I am not a nationally recognized and/or syndicated Commentator,I'm not allowed to make things like that up yet.
What is one to do in such a situation ?
I'm thinking of a compromise stance: I'll wear a scarf and gloves when I go out later-but skip wearing a sweater under my parka.
